YAY !! another 303 user .. I don't feel so isolated anymore..
Beautiful system .. interesting colour combo on the 206.. and kindof surprised you didn't opt for something that matches your gorgeous pre/dac combo.

Thanks guys, it sure has taken some time (and $) to put all this together but it ends up simply the best sounding stereo system I've laid ears on.
The new monos are still settling in but the increased base depth and solidity were apparent right from the getgo.
Next move ... mix a cocktail, sit back, crank it up & enjoy.

Would it be effective to mount these monoblock on spiked amp stands?
Maybe solid thick Maple?
Any suggestions on a brand or style.
Thanks, Freddy

Great set up! Can you provide more details about the AB amp? In what ways are they different from the 200 series?
I use Grand Prix Audio stands on my 208s and are very pleased with them. Like many isolation products, they increase focus, transparency and detail but they do so without exagerating certain frequencies. It adds a further level of blackness, delicacy, sweetness and refinement to my 208s.

Hi Freddy,
Do you throw a blanket over your TV while listening to the stereo? I have a similar setup with TV in between my speakers. With a blanket over it during stereo-only listening, then I find it removes some pesky high frequency reflections that may cloud the overall presentation, and (I guess it is related) increases the depth of the soundstage a little bit.
Anyways, your setup looks amazing!!! Thanks for helping keep me motivated as I ever so slowly work my way up the chain.
Any other information you can share about your AB amps would be welcome...

Hey Stew, this is a good point. I'd love to have a dedicated stereo (non TV)
room ... I guess, but what's the matter with listening to TV thru a primo stereo setup?
I've never thrown a blanky over the plasma to listen, but am considering wall mounting the set and running a set of drapes in front, possibly motorized. One thing for sure, the drape will have a large C and H dead centre. I'm sure the absence of a TV will have a positive affect ... maybe someone with some experience on this can add a thought.
As far as the AB monos go: I will reserve absolute judgement for another month or so, but straight away there was a very noticeable increase in audible channel separation, base extension, and most eerily this kind of holographic sound distribution that really upstaged my BC206. Not sure if I was smokin' anything weird when I heard this, but it was clear and present.
Thanks for the comments and input guys, as I am somewhat of a rookie in this game. First round selection though.

Freddy,
Putting something in front of the screen to absorb and/or diffuse would likely be beneficial. In our HT room, the large screen makes it difficult to have good sound because of the glare. Although audio is not a priority in that room, I did find that placing just a couple of acoustic panels in the middle made a huge difference and gave better focus and depth to the soundstage.
