Zero Impedance Autoformers?

What are your thoughts on the Zero Impedance Autoformers?

He says that they will change a speakers impedance by 2x, 3x, or 4x depending on the tap. The claimed benefits are an easy to drive speaker, thus having a larger damping factor allowing for more bass control, detail, imaging etc....

I am not quite sure how this all works. He says that it will let a low powered amps (SETs included) drive Logan's and Magnepans just be changing them to 16-ohm load?

It does just not make sense to me that by changing the impedance will substitute for good old fashion power? What's the trade off, or what are they not telling us?

Enough questions.

There is no trade off. I use these them here in the UK as a substitute to the Nordost Valhalla speaker cable I was using in my system. I have just sold the Nordosts because they didn't make my system sound as good as the Zero Autoformers do. With the Zero's in situ almost everthing is better than the Valhallas - bass is deeper, tighter I can get more volume on my speakers etc etc. I'm using Krell KCT pre amp, Conrad Johnson Premier 8A monblocks, Martin Logan CLS IIz speakers. However, Zero Autoformers only work when there is an impedance mismatch between amp and speaker i.e. sub 8 ohm speaker used on the end of an 8 ohm amplifier spkr tap.
